We're very aware that for the guests coming from outside Belgium, the costs of getting to Brussels and staying there for (hopefully) more than one night, can really start to mount up. And that's before the wedding even starts! The fact that you are planning to come and celebrate our special day with us is already enough.
We are just happy that you can be there and for some, that's already a big effort due to the sheer distances involved.
So, that said, if you'd like to give us anything, we will naturally be extremely grateful but please don't feel under any obligation.
As a couple, we've probably already got as much as we need in the way of household items. Although there are a few specific things that we'd still like, we don't necessarily need the things that you would find on a more traditional wedding list like toasters, canteens, mantelpiece clocks or tea towels!
Gift vouchers would be very useful as we gradually merge our former individual lives and possessions together. Just as examples, we really need to replace 12+-year-old beds, sofas and so on.
UK people - We have a short-ish wedding list at John Lewis; https://www.johnlewisgiftlist.com number; 459673 (no password)
Alternatively, vouchers would be great from John Lewis or any other big national store, such as Debenhams.
Belgium-based people, Inno, Dille/Camille or similar. (Zara Home and Habitat also tick the box but are frankly, overpriced for what they offer. Still, we wouldn't say no!)
Contributions towards a wine cellar would also be very welcome!
Or, you can help towards the honeymoon. At the moment we are planning to go away over Christmas and New Year 2011-2012. Please email us if you want details of how to contribute here.
But, as we said above, please don't feel under any obligation. Come and celebrate this happy occasion with us. That's all we ask!
